Description A quicky paint job, working on my speed. I wanna say "Sly" took me 4 hours to complete? I dunno the exact number, but around there. Based on Sylvester Stallone's character of John Rambo, Marbo is a Catachan Jungle fighter that specializes in stealth.

He is probably none other than Primarch Corax disguised as a lone guardsman. After the events of Deliverance Lost and Soulforge, Corax stripped himself of command of the Raven Guard due to a combination of guilt and insanity but in all likelihood remained a deadly menace to the enemies of the Imperium. Sly Marbo's feats of stealth and lethality are right up there with that of a veteran Astartes or even a Primarch which combined with him being an all around enigma makes it likely he is a hidden Primarch.

To commemorate this great soldier of the Imperium, I shall now recite one of Sly Marbo's most famous qoutes

I just saw that clip on YouTube. That's about how I reckoned events would have played out.

Sly Marbo. Forged using the DNA of Bruce Lee, Silvester Stallone, Chuck Norris, Bruce Campbell, and Reb Brown. Oh, not as part of a Genetic Experiment or anything. They just willed together one day and started kicking ass in the name of the Imperium.Β

Bruce Lee's agility, Stallone's arms and punching power, Norris' kicking skill, Bruce Campbell's chin, and the vocals of Reb Brown. Best of all worlds if you ask me.

Do you play the table game too? If so, maybe you should get Commissar Yarrick too and put both down as part of your forces when you play. It will give you automatic win for having two of the most badass W40k charactersΒ on your side

I have been playing more 40K and Age of Sigmar as of recently. I did have a Yarrick mini, but it was damaged. I'm thinking of picking up another one just to paint.

Do you put a wash over what you've painted? An ogryn flesh (or whatever the new name of it is...) would make it look alot better, as well as a nuln oil wash over the rest.

Sly is mentioned in the book as well, seems he even scares his own Regiment and prefers to be alone; he basically man handles an Ork so he's pretty strong! Not bad for a Private!

I do. Sly here was a quickie paint job / experiment. I used a watered down Reikland Flesh Wash. Looking at him on my hobby area, I'm thinking of stripping him down and re-doing him at a later date with what I've learned since. ^^

Alternatively, keep the Sly you already have, and when you improve and do another one; do a comparison shot between the two

Not a bad idea. I'll have to find me another Sly via E-Bay. GW is no longer selling him on their site.

I do not disagree with that, and if anything, I thank you for pointing that out. I think I could have made around the eyes a little bit darker, and apply a 2nd highlight layer to the raised areas of the face.

You know, I once heard that he stared into the Eye of Terror. When a Chaos God stared back, he jumped through to beat it senseless for looking at him funny.

Easily the thickest arms of an IG Guardsmen I've painted. Maybe he trains up by punching Tyranids in the face?
