it's because astray actually is a grunt i guess.
grunts look generally better than "real" gundams ^_^
and as far as gundams concerned, astray might very well be the best ^_^
some of the antagonist mobile suits are even better tho

The only [read: -Only-] gundam I like better then Astray, personally, is Duel. Isaac's original gundam. It was even my first actual model. XD

Which Tamiya weathering sets do you use? Ive seen Weathering Master Set C end up making models looking great, but i always wondered how well it stays on after application. Did you seal it in with clear coat?

i also like C, but my new favorite is F (titanium, light gunmetal and copper). also i've used Oil stain on D here.
they are so good that it feels like cheating XD they stick to paint fairly well. and stays fixed like any paint after sealing.
and no, this is not sealed yet. still needs some touch-ups here and there.

That's an interesting color scheme. I do think it needs a little color though. Maybe just the sensors and V-fin, or a little silver on the mechanical parts.

what kind of paint do you recommend for these models? I got a Armour Core Omer figure finished it and saw that the paint I have is not the best.

i use valejo air colors for airbrush
spray paints might work. but it's kinda harder to cover some colors with spray paints. like red. or if plastic is darker color than what you gonna use. they also give a thicker paint and it's easy to obscure some details.
enamel paints are good for traditional brush work.
revell acryllics are also good for that. but i didn't like metallics of that line.
i also use tamiya weathering master sets for drybrush.
