A little known species Aegypius prepyrenaicus was a vulture that lived in Europe during the Pleistocene; it was related to today's cinereous vulture (Aegypius monachus) which is the largest vulture today (over three meter wingspan, up to 14 kgs, being comparable even to condors). A. prepyrenaicus was even bigger tho. It is possible that it would go after live prey occassionally, like its modern counterpart.

That would make it the largest accipitrid ever, wouldn't it?

Possibly, but there are other contenders. I'll try to doodle some of them too

The only accipitrids I know that got anywhere near that big are the Haast's eagle, the Woodward's eagle, and some of today's larger old world vultures.
