Description Un Megantereon acecha a varios homininos durmientes.

A Megantereon stalks several sleeping hominins. In the dark, they are all but blind, and cats are famous for their stealth...
It is perhaps not surprising that humanity as a whole is afraid of darkness. Our ancestors and early relatives didn´t only have hyenas, pythons and leopards to worry about at night, but also at least two machairodontines- Dinofelis and Megantereon. Although Dinofelis is usually imagined as the primate predator, a study found that at least in south Africa, Dinofelis prefered hunting ruminants, while Megantereon was more likely to eat hominins.
Megantereon apparently took its taste for human flesh out of Africa, as a skull of Homo erectus found in Dmanisi, Georgia, shows two puncture marks that perfectly fit the fangs of a Megantereon. These cats were probably an important component in our ancestor's nightmares!
