Megalochoerus homungous (me encanta ese nombre ) fue un inmenso jabalí prehistórico que habitó África en el Mioceno; medía alrededor de dos metros de altura a los hombros y algunos estudios estiman su peso en hasta 3,000 kilos. Al parecer sus patas eran bastante largas así que quizá habría sido capaz de correr a buena velocidad a pesar de su enorme tamaño. Un bicho que nadie quisiera hacer enojar Realmente no tiene mucho que envidiarle a los mucho más famosos "cerdos exterminadores", los entelodontes, que realmente no eran cerdos de verdad...

Megalochoerus homungous (I love the name ) was a, well, humongous prehistoric pig, which lived in Africa during the Miocene; it was around 2 m tall at the shoulder and its weight has been estimated at around 3,000 kg. Apparently, its legs were pretty long meaning it may have been quite fast for its size. Definitely an animal no one would want to anger! Nothing to envy the much better known "terminator pigs", the entelodonts, which weren´t even pigs to begin with...
