8.5" x 11" Copy paper. Black Pencil/Prismacolor markersWith the announcement of Tom Hardy playing Bane as the key villain in "The Dark Knight Rises" I started doodling up some concepts. I'm still tinkering with what I think Bane would look like in a "suit", but This is what I'm imagining for his look.
My inspiration is Robert Shaw's character Red Grant in "FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE". I also think that Nolan will go with a more realistic approach to Bane's Venom. More a high steroid injected into the veins as opposed to into the spine via a device strapped on his chest under his body armor.

Interesting looking design, I didn't that Bane was the main villain for the Dark Knight sequel, I also heard that Anna Hathaway will play Catwoman.

Yeah I think Nolan'll go with a more realistic approach on Bane, and I love your concept! But I think it may be way to realistic, specially 'couse of those litle stikers on the venom tube. If Bane was to go on a fight with master detective Batman looking like that, he would get his ass kicked!That litle tube would be "bat-rang practice target" like there is no tomorrow! Anyway, I would LOVE to see you work on a "suit" that can hide and protect that flaw.
And I think is safe to say we're all eager for the next Batman movie!

As I posted, I'm still working out his armor/suit. In my mind, it'll be stolen Wyne Tech ala Batman Begins when we saw Wayne in Asia stealing from himself along with others. "What If" tech that was being produced by Wayne Corp found it's way into bane's hands.
He wouldn't look like this fighting Batman, this is UNDER the suit.

That idea does have merit and would work perfectly! And I really am hoping to see Bane as the antagonist mastermind of Batman. The Joker is considerd his opposit in everything, but he's crazy as hell. Bane's mind work on the same level as Batman's!It's only the morals that differ. So expectation is really high for this one!(And I am desperate to erase that other movie "Bane" from my mind...ugh).
Until then, keep feeding us with more conceptual work!
