Nice and simple, yet detailed at the same time. Nice work.

That's what I wanted. Nice, simple, calm ... The Big Blue...

And to think that there is a planet much like this one in my upcoming work as I had something a bit like a mix of Uranus and Jupiter in mind, but it's not a convential space scene - it's an original concept with an amusing twist

Great job on the main planet! though I think the shadows casted from the clouds look a bit too extreme The rings are also good, I've found out how to make Procedural rings in Vue actually, and that's how the ringed planets in my next deviation will be made

Dude, you have to teach me all the procedural stuff. I can't wrap my head around it. I always end up doing things the hard way. I create rings using planes and masks and so on.

And I'm waiting for that amusing twist.

Hmm, explaining how I made the planets, especially their clouds would take forever, and since it was a gradual and developing process, I can't really remember every step.

Rings on the other hand (as used in the deviation I was talking about that's now up) I made using no more than a typical "banded" type of function, normally the concentric lines only work on actual objects and appear as nothing on 2D planes, so I modelled rings in Cinema 4D onto a disk-shaped object that's very slightly raised towards the centre so it's not perfectly flat, so these simple functions when used as a colour-function and perhaps a slightly modified version as the alpha - give me nice rings that are easy to change the appearance of

Not bad. The planet's shadow on the rings seems sharp, though.

Thanks. About the shadow... I looked at shots from Saturn and that's where I get that from.

gute arbeit
