Hi @ all!A while ago I made a planet called "Agathange". I redid this planet with 3dsmax and gave it some rings and moons and a thicker atmosphere.
Agathange is a world in the book "Neverness" by David Zindell. A big oceanworld where godlike creatures live in the endless waters. He said nothing about rings in his novell but I always saw them in my imagination. Thanks to Mr. Zindell for a good book, I enjoyed every bit of it.

Edit: I changed the clouds and the rings. Clouds are more realistic now and the rings are a bit more noisy and opaque. Hope this works. Tell me what you think about the changes. Uh, and one major change (though very subtle) I added icecaps.

Not to mention that nobody gives their habitable worlds any ice caps, that would be cool ( no pun intended ).
The best thing about giving a planet rings in 3D is that the persepctive and the way they cast shadows on the main planet is always accurate. Wonder what the view from the Equator would be like?

I wonder about the effects of the ring system on the planet below. The planetary climate can be thought of in a basic sense as a conveyor belt transferring heat from the tropics to the polar regions. Put a ring system around the planet and you cast a shadow over the tropics, which would reduce the amount of energy being supplied to the planet. More ice?
