Just leaving the lines of her dress works really well... they almost blend in with the lines on the map. I wanna have a go now

I was inspired by the "fadeaway girls" of C. Coles Phillips (an American illustrator in the 1920s).

Yeah, I saw, but yours feels quite different... maybe just because its not fo much flat planes of colour...

Oh wow, that's really pretty! I know the Coles Phillips works had solid backgrounds, but the map really makes this one pop!

All homage to Coles Phillips who invented the technique (in illustrations) way back in the early 1900s. I just adapted it to collage.
