whew, last year has been quite busy for me, and sure enough, the tough gets going as even more work outside Deviantart keeps piling up, my free time for my hobby art is getting sacrificed. On the other hand, last year isn't half bad. It was still fruitful nonetheless, despite the poor productivity compared to 2012, but last year I managed to make a variety of artworks after some neat style-practices and experiments. So, without further a do, let's take another look at some of the highlights of Hokage's 2013.
January So This is New Year
- My New Year's Artwork for 2013. The concept here is about how would an Alien from space find our celebration of New year.
February Kay
-Yup, she is Kay, vampire OC. I wanted to practice my Armor skills, and she's perfect for it.
March Human Nature
- I really like this one. The concept is about humans being part of nature as well, and thus we all have the responsibility to take care of it.
April Adoptables
-And thus I joined the rank of the tricksters as I made a fake Adoptables...it was a successful prank...
May Afterthoughts
-Nothing special really, just curious whats inside the mind of a boy who fell in love...
June Thank You
- Mayumi was moved to tears for such overwhelming support that Hokage received since he became a member.
July Nokage
-Seriously, I have no idea why I have no artworks for July...Maybe that was the time when I was busy saving the planet from procrastination?
August Outside the World of Dreams
- When we where still young, fantasy was our reality...and as we grow up, we are to face the fact that it was all a wonderful dream.
September True Colors
- Gasp, an emotional piece here...have you ever had that feeling that you have to suppress the real you in order to fit to society?
October Listen to the World
- Music is colorful, and the world is music....
November You are not Alone
- A piece dedicated to the victims of the past super typhoon Haiyan. I wanted to tell them that they are not alone. this was the least i could do as an artist...
December My Reason to be Merry
- Matchstick girl with a twist. It's a lesson about satisfaction and the things that will truly make us happy.
Well, that was my 2013. hopefully, this year will be even more productive on the artistic field, and since my 2014 started with a lot of things to accomplish, I could say that I'm very optimistic about my current state. being busy means you are working, and work means you are a person capable of meeting yours and others' expectation. until then, more artworks to come...(^_^)

It's interesting to see all the different styles you tried out last year. It's important as an artist to always try new things, outside of our comfort zone. It's what keeps us creative. Looking forward to seeing your new ideas in 2014!

challenges me, also, I'm applying this
little theory about "Style Matching"
thing.... it goes like, a certain concept
or artwork will be much more effective
and beautiful if a proper, appropriate style
has been used for making it...imagine pokemon
in a Dragon Ball style art. Do you think
it'd still be as cute and child friendly?
