Another New Year's Resolution
Special Class
When the clock strikes at twelve, this year will become last year, and all of the world will once again be happy to welcome a brand new year. Fireworks after fireworks, feast after feast, everyone is looking forward for another chance to live life. As I tear away the last leaf of my calendar, I remembered about the many things that happened between me and myself. Yes, the things I should have done, and the things that I shouldn't, and the things that’s supposed to make me a better person. Don’t we all have a promise of change? It’s that dreaded task of optimism, that ever so colorful wish. I can still recall those past years of promises, which I’m now trying to reflect with. I won’t be late, I’ll exercise more. I’ll eat healthy food, I’ll be less grumpy, I’ll socialize more, I’ll do my house chores, I’ll be more resourceful, I’ll be a wise-spender, I’ll save more money, I’ll cut some gaming hours, I won’t argue on the internet, I’ll give more time for work, I’ll be a good person, and the list goes on…Man, I felt quite guilty looking at the pieces of paper where this promises are written, for most of them remained as a promise. So what’s new this year then? I think I've broken every hopeful promises a person like me could muster. I wanted to turn all this letters into a paper plane and fly them into the sky, so that the sky could remind me of my priorities in life. And thus I figured my newest new promise, “I’ll keep my past years' promises!”...yup, that’ll be my New Year’s Resolution.
