More Lord of the Rings fan art - this time of a character I neglect ALL the time (mainly because she irritates the fuck out of me mostly).Here's Eowyn, white lady of Rohan, the first in the 'new' series of LOTR Unleashed I'm planning on completing. The next is gonna be a baddie, so I'll leave you guessing as to whom it is.
Eowyn is copyright to J.R.R.Tolkien and the Saul Zaents company and New Line Cinema and Peter Jackson yada yada. She doesn't belong to me basically, though the artwork does.

My style is heavily influenced by Disney style characterisation, it's true, and I think that combining this with LOTR art is interesting - not sure many people draw these characters or scenarios in this manner. I'm glad you like it
She bugs me mainly because of how she's portrayed in the films to be honest... It's not so much Miranda Otto but the characterisation through the writing. She just comes across as a lovesick idiot desperate to ride to her death through grief. I don't see any of the inner strength that is present in the book. Also, I'm enormously Team Arwen and Eowyn is a brazen hussy who keeps trying to steal Aragorn away, lol.

Thanks. It was difficult to bring out the inner strength of the character without making her seem too 'butch' if you will. I didn't want her to look like a lesbian. I tried to capture both her femininity and her determination. I hope I succeeded.
