Description
This is Solar Spark, a SombLestia pony I adopted fromCreated as a fail-safe encase the Princesses were to somehow be wiped out, Solar Spark was deemed to be one of Equestria's cutest when she was a filly, and behaved in ways that could make most any pony go 'aww' without second thought. As she grew however, she changed quite a bit. Solar Spark grew to be stern, and decided to join the royal guard. She is the second youngest captain to date, and as very serious about the protection of her mother, aunt and her sister-cousin Midnight Sun.

Crystal: Ironic, being that your mother is the princess of the sun.
Shadowed: *grumbles*
Crystal: *giggles* Wow. That mare looks a lot like mom. You think she could be our sister?
Shadowed: Yo! Are you our sister?!
Crystal: Very subtle, Shadowed. *sighs and rolls her eyes*
Shadowed: *shrugs as they both walk over to the mare*

Solar Spark: *blinks* Are, you two Crystal Spark and Shadowed Sun...?

Crystal: Yep that's me! I'm Crystal. This killjoy over here is Shadowed Sun.
Shadowed. *elbows Crystal and glares at her*
Crystal: Ow! *sarcastically* She's a regular ray of sunshine.

Solar Spark: I can see that. *claps hoof against the ground* So sorry we've not yet met ladies, I've been busy with my work.

Crystal: It is a pleasure to meet you. I understand being busy. The life of a princess is not an easy one sometimes.
Shadowed: Goodie Goddies. Not fair she's an alicorn and I'm not.
Crystal: Shadowed! Is that any way to greet our sister? *turns back towards Solar* Terribly sorry about her. Unfortunately she takes more after dad and has no social skills.
Shadowed: Humph.

Solar Spark: *haze grows a bit* I'm an Alicorn because I'm able to handle power. Tell me Shadowed, what makes you capable of Alicorn status? Why do you think you should be one? *raises an eyebrow*

Crystal: I'm wondering the same.
Shadowed: Cause I deserve the power. I am the daughter of the powerful sun princess and the dark king. Why shouldn't I get that power?!
Crystal: Shadowed! Calm yourself! Mother will be very cross with you when she hears about this outburst.
Shadowed: I should have gone to live with dad.

Solar Spark: *hoof comes down again* If that is your only reason, then you'll have a hard time reaching your goal. An Alicorn's power isn't something we just 'deserve.' It is something we earn. I earned it because I risked everything to protect our mother and aunt, and now have the power so I can defend everypony that has ever mattered to me. A Princess's job is to earn the respect of her people and defend them, not just rule them.

Shadowed: I don't need either of you. I am going to find dad. Good riddance you goody four hooves!
Crystal: Shadowed! I don't get how we're sisters sometimes. We're polar opposites. I understand the responsibility of a princess and what is expected of me. I know that if I am to become an alicorn, I will. Shadowed doesn't get it. All she wants is power.

Solar Spark: *shakes her head* Sadly, such ponies exist, father is one of those ponies.

Crystal: I know. *sighs* It's like she has no part of our mother in her at all. You'd expect her to have some good in her and I have tried to bring that out, but I can't get through to her. She's just so stubborn.

Crystal: Glad to hear. I've been trying to keep Shadowed in line and as you could see, it's not working very well. I fear that I will never be on friendly terms with our estranged sister. *sighs*
