Wallace, staring at Gromit, carefully laid him on his knees, lowered his head to the body, holding his best friend tight, as he wept. This man was mourning not just his pet, but someone who had been his best reliance, a great helper, a true friend and a beloved family member, without whom his life wouldn’t be the same anymore. The others unable to do anything to ease the man’s pain, just watched Wallace cry and call for Gromit.

“I beg ye, pal...” he said as he nuzzled his best friend’s muzzle. “Don’t leave me, I need you...”

In despair Wallace wept even harder, he cried so bitterly that it seemed that he would never stop. The inconsolable man clinged onto the dog’s body and lied down beside Gromit, having let out a heartwrenching grieving yow.

An illustration for the first chapter of my "Farewell, lad" fanfic, which I'm going to upload just in a few minutes! All I can say by now is to prepare your tissue papers, because it may make you feel very sad. Hopefully, nobody's gonna kill me for killing Gromit off... But it was needed for my story. It took me about two or three weeks to write the first chapter, but I was busy with my studyings and wanted to upload the chapter with the illustration made by me.

While drawing this, I listened to two songs, which really fit the moment I captured. One of them was "Dream you're still here" by Digital daggers and "Slipped away" by Avril Lavigne.
