Description
I know you’re feeling sadness, I see it in your eyes
The pain is overwhelming when a loved one dies
But it’s time for you to let go and set your heartache free
For there’s a life that’s waiting there for you
If you can let love through
If you can give love you will find your family
Though it may not be like it was before
And if you give love you’ll never lose love
It only grows more and more
No need to build a rocket, for you can now be strong
The things that you’ve been searching for have been here all along
And, though it hurts to miss her, her spirit’s always near
So trust that she will always be with you
And love someone new
The gift is not the answer, and you are not alone
For love is all around you, the love you’ve always known
And, though it hurts to miss him, his spirit’s always near
The heart grows and it knows
You can glow, you’re wonderful
After watching "Over the moon" during my winter break, I was inspired by the movie's last song "Love someone new" and it reminded me of an old drawing idea of mine, which I managed to embody only now. The song is about accepting the loss of your loved one and moving on to keep on living for other people, whom we love and care about. I believe that it includes the close relationship that people have with their pets, who count as family members as well.
Back in 2017, when I started to draw "Wallace and Gromit" fanarts, I wondered: how would the man feel if he had to cope with losing his best friend? I even scrapped a small story based on that idea, but now that I look back, I see that the way I planned it back then was really stupid. I may write another one, but better version ,since I actually like the concept.
Wallace and Gromit are not only best friends, they are a family too. In fact, I believe that Gromit sees his owner as a father figure and that's the main reason, why he cares about him so much. The man, in my opinion, also sees Gromit not only as his pet and best friend, but maybe as an adoptive son. If something ever happened to him, I bet Wallace would be devastated, lose all hopes and maybe even will to live, because his loneliness and grief would have made him thought that he was nothing without his loyal friend by his side, which would obviously lead him to depression. However, he'd later be encouraged by Gromit's spirit, whom he had to let go then, to keep on living as he would always live in the memories, the two shared together.
I'm sorry if I broke the fans' hearts... I've just been in the mood to draw sad art.
