Yes, it was my first time in the studio so I was quite annoyed when i got home and found white squares in the models eyes on every picture But apparently sometimes its a good thing?

This was my first time hiring a studio. This one had similar arrangment to yours I think, with the squares on the right... [link]

Oh and related to your Cover Girl title, I take photos for my univerity's newspaper and sometimes I get a picture on the cover, one time of a student selling a magazine on the streets. After the newspaper came out, she was happy and embarrassed to be on the cover. Her friends had nicknamed her "Cover girl".

Oh yeah i see o: Im not quite sure how to avoid getting the little square lights though. I called it cover girl, because ive sort of over edited it to make it look like something that would be on the front of a magazine (:

I borrowed a ringlight flash. Normally they give circular rings as catchlights in the eyes, which is very striking. But I was using a cheap that didn't give a full circle so lost the effect.

Here's photos I found on Flickr for what it's supposed to look like. [link]

Oooooh, i was actually looking through a magazine today and wondered how the had circular catchlights when it was clearly taken in a studio. Ive never heard of these ringlight flashes o:

You can buy an expensive ringlight flash which is built for macro photography. I tried the cheap strap-on verison on my flash and didn't work that well.

You can put a black disc in the middle of a studio light and apparently gives the same effect.
