I saw this wonderful photo
by and asked her (and her model friend) if I could draw it and they both kindly allowed me. I had fun creating this illustration and tried out some different techniques. The original piece is more blue in tone and I realized that I wanted to change that slightly. So after scanning it into photoshop, I messed with colors and saturation until I felt pleased with the balance of everything.

Materials Used: Acrylic paints, markers, ink, watercolor, and gel pens on smooth bristol paper. Original illustration is almost 9" x 12" in size. Created in 2013 and heavily influenced by the great Edgar Allan Poe.

Artist Note:

Wanted very badly to finish and upload this before Halloween, but alas, I became severely ill and spent two weeks quarantined with bottles of medicine and plenty of blankets. Thanks to the person who gave me such lovely germs and my immune system that decided to take a holiday around my favorite holiday. I really am upset that I missed Halloween this year. I had put together an amazing ghostly Miss Havisham (from Great Expectations) costume and didn't get to wear it out. I guess there is next year though.
