Thanks(Btw, Lapis' "We're Malachite, now" line reminded me of Venom almost immediately).
I also found it more than a little odd how, despite fusion being described as a merging of Gems in both body and mind, Rose was somehow unaware of Pearl's true intentions.

Yeah she had the best expressive and hilarious looks on her face in that episode.
Yeah that is a good comparison especially with Lapis' water wings covering her and turning her into Malachite and that could be seen as the Symbiote covering Eddie and turning him into Venom.
That's true. Though as the flashback episode showed, Rose wasn't Β the best gem when it came to handling romantic feelings at first. So she probably Β knew about Pearl's infatuation with her but left it alone to spare Pearl the sadness of being rejected.
