excellent! timeless and sensual.
And that Mondrian comment is just out of place, sorry.

indeed. The space is organized well. Almost like a Mondrian painting.

Inspired by Vermeer? It reminds me of Gottfried Helnwein's stuff, for some reason. The color scheme, maybe, and the light...
Either way, it's beautiful.

Very very nice! It reminds me of a Hopper painting called morning sun. I how she is so seperated from her environment, very cool!

Traditional art is still the best form of art...I wish i could make one painting on canvas someday. Keep up the good work.

I am a huge fan of shadows and this image captivates me. It might sounds silly but I get lost (in a good way) in places like under the chair. It's just a deep sense that draws you into the painting and creates that lulled atmosphere. The weight of the frabic is nice as well. I'm sure the photograph (scan?) doesn't do it justice. I would love to see the texture in person.

I don't even want to look inside. I like the feeling. The doors are wide open still shut. This painting brought some early XIX century smell. Very moody.

This is a very beautiful work, its so nice see someone that has taken a traditional medium and created an extremely wonderful work with it. Some can still handle pencils and brushes just in case the power goes off. FAV

Truly an amazing painting.
It shows lots of emotion .. and actaully you can almost tell that it is morning by the look on the face ... looks sleepy. Staring at you .. but not sure what it's staring towards.
The colors are very well done for this painting.

My mother paints a lot but most of the time she does aquarelle.

the woman is so mesmerising. the contradiction between the warmth of the colours + the coolness of the painting is almost disconcerting. it really feels as if the viewer is outside looking in.
+ the composition is really interesting, too, with the frames on the right.
definately one of the most interesting pieced i've seen on d.a. for a while.

You captured the style of the era well. The lighting is wonderful and the chair is done very well... nearly as good as the subject. VERY nice work.
