perfect angles and perspective. i love your technique of using areas of intense reds against the more muted colors. it gives areas of emphasis and a richness to your paintings. i should try something like that in my own paintings. i think you captured the light perfectly as well.

i was wondering though- could you capture the same realism of light and shadow in an imagined scene? youre probably not even interested in work like that, but it was just a thought..

The last 3 paintings are quite impressive, especially in relation to each other. *Light* is the the star of the show in all of them. They all have a distinctive mood but this one is most inviting to me. I feel very safe looking at it, it embodies all the comforts of "home". Soft sunny lighting, the idea of waiting for a loved one to return home, even the table lamp reminds me of one my grandparents had in their home.

How do you capture lighting so well?

I love this painting. It is so wonderful in its Englishness. The small touches of red against the creams and yellows is genius. The only thing wrong with this painting is that it is not mine.(small tears and begging now apply) Beautifully complete.

This is my favorite out of the three. The colors and and the atmosphere are absolutely stunning, with the green and yellow, and the red towel that gives enough. Your works remind me of Jan Vermeer. I'm afraid I'm not capable of giving advanced constructive criticism for a painter of your calibre

beautifully done.
i love the subtlety of it.
the way you've left the red garment hanging on the far door reminds
me of a m. night shyamalan scene,...i.e.,...sixth sense.
also reminescent of hopper or wyeth. very americana. with regards to
subject matter as well.
i love it.

Amazing. Incredibly realistic. Especially that picture frame in the top right corner. I don't know why that drew my attention, but it did. The colors and lighting are so gorgeous. And you've captured such a warm, comforting feeling in this. It makes me feel like I'm walking down the hall of my own home.

It has been quite some time. Glad to see you back and submitting.

Great work. I remember seeing the thumbnail and thinking, this can't possibly be a painting.
The lighting is great. Highlights on the red jacket, the items hanging, reflection in the glass of the hanging pictures, the glare on the floor that bounces off to the wall. Perfection.

I would have sworn that this was a photography until I read the word "painting". I can hardly believe it still, so it so well done! Wonderful job on the overall image- the tone, angle, view, and concept. But the detail work is especially amazing, with all those things that make this look real like the reflections on the gold lamp and the picture frames. This is spectacular and very well done!
