Description Before The Fighter Collection acquired their latest P-40 (the silver example) they owned this one..
It could be said this is the famous of them all.. This one was actually at Pearl Harbour during the attack..

It now lives in the U.S. (not sure where - it will be pointed out I'm sure, people know more than I)..
I will miss it actually, I loved the Olive colour scheme..

I'll show it flying soon..

It belongs to the Collings Foundation based in New England.

However she suffered a landing gear collapse since arriving so is currently not airworthy. 4.bp.blogspot.com/-6eo5VaUP9Y0…

Have heard of that group.. Shame, lol
Not laughing at the aircraft's fate but almost everything sold / swapped back there seems to be grounded or they crash!
Oh well, one thing they do have the funds to repair her..
Cheers for info, I'd knew you'd come through..

Well as they say, everything that goes up, must come down. Sadly not always as planned. To be fair, though I don't really know the cause of this incident but it could well have been an accident waiting to happen if it was mechanical failure that lead to it. It may have ended up the same way if it had remained in the UK too.

As we well know at Duxford these things are so true, the Black 9 example being a classic one of note!
Just really bad timing I guess but so many really bad timing there lol

Beautiful aircraft. Most people only know the later versions of the P-40.
