Berry bounced out from behind the employees room and readjusted her bag with all of the evening mail she's about to deliver, when she bumped into a solid body. With a small yelp, she lands on her bottom and her bag flew off.

"Oh dear! I am so sorry!" The young voice said. Two pairs of dark feet appear in her line of sight and her bag comes into view, along with a dark paw. She blinks and moves her ears out of the way to see better and is met with a pair of sparkling ruby eyes of a Riolu.

"I'm sorry for bumping you, I didn't see ya' there." He extends his other paw and Berry hesitantly takes it, climbing onto her feet. She takes her bag from him and bows lightly in thanks before sidestepping him to get around.

"Wait!" He raises his arm to block her path and Berry tensed. Without warning, her ears retract to her skull and her fluff bellows out.

"Please, I came here on behave of a mission." He says. Whether he sees her stance or not is a mystery but Berry can't be sure because she feels a bit ridiculous for reacting so suddenly. But she has her reasons, and her actions are justified, even to her Manager.

He reaches behind him and slowly pulls out a small note for Berry to see. "I took this to confirm that I have taken the job as your guard."

... What?

"I-I mean," he fidgets and his ears flatten against his head, "you don't have to, but me and my teammate really need the money and I want to prove how capable I am." He pauses and flushed. "N-not that you're not capable, I mean those ears probably pack a wallop, and you could kick serious tail, um... all I ask is that you give me a chance. Please?"

While he talked, Berry gained her senses and her stance became normal the more she listened to him yip in excited chatter. In a way, she can understand the need to prove one's value for she didn't get this job without a bit of hassle. Being a young Buneary out on the road and sometimes travelling further into the woods in dangerous. She won't admit the butterflies in her tummy when a large 'mon strolls by or when she would feel luring eyes at the back of her tail. It's unnerving....

She couldn't see the harm in having this pup be around to keep her company for a bit, he looks pretty strong and fast enough to get them out of danger. And she could use a change of pace in her life, just a little.

The pink bunny waves for his attention and smiles sweetly at him, then nods.

"Is-is that a yes?" His tail wags behind him and his paws clasp together as his shine brightly. "Ohh thank you very much! I promise to be the best guard and not let anything happen to ya'!" He strikes a pose and Berry bounces towards the door. The Riolu catches up to her and went ahead to open the door for her. "Oh! Um, if you don't mind me askin', what's your name? I'm Rio!"

For a moment, they walk (bounce) in silence and the pup, Rio, thought it wasn't a good idea to ask. But she stops moving and he does too, feeling anxious that he did actually cross the line. But a gentle smile comes onto her face calmed any negative feelings and her eyes met his.

"My name is Berry~"

Berry is awkward with making friends so she doesn't speak and keeps a distance between others. Given time, she slowly opens up and she's a whole new person with a bubbly personality, if she likes you that is.
