My boyfriend. As an eevee. Yeah, apparently that became a thing. XD
Some details:
His favorite color is gray, which is why he is shiny.
He wears a gray jacket, so I gave him a gray bandana. (although it looks more brown because I did some weird color magic with the layers)
He wears glasses.
He is utterly awesome.

I don't really know XD I just drew white speckles and they seemed to work. I will go with glowy spots of awesome, though.

That doesn't mean you won't get better at drawing eventually! Digital art is just another medium. Practicing with any sort of medium helps you improve. ^^
I guess if you want to be better at "normal" drawing, I'd suggest drawing anything around you. Realism helps you notice how light falls on certain surfaces and discern different textures and whatnot.

How do you experiment with all those colors?

I like to test how certain colors mix first on the scratchpad, then once the base colors are down I fiddle with the saturation and value meters.
Then to make it more unified, I slap on some overlay layers. It's basically just me messing around with things until I think the colors are suitable. Experimenting is good, since it lets you see all the possibilities.
