but it had a life longer than this of me. i'm not sure (no exact dates knowen) it was 25years long and made many good photos, so it is not so painfull.

it is very intressting, but i recomment to do this not by yourself with a good working lens, it is very easy to damage your lens and the autofocus will also work no more correctly without the right tools to adjust the lens

yes, it was broken and i get a new one (same lens). when i open it, i rip off the data cable and there where no more chance to use it in any automation modes.
but then i modified this lens so i get a sharp photo at 85mm at a distance of 15cm -> cool macro lens

Nice! Don't think I'll give it a try though, I'd probably just destroy the lens. That really cool you can modify your own lenses to suit what you want.
