For #DrawtoberPart2 prompt Zombie.

Despite popular superstition, thee foul Necromancers of Morgulia do not, in fact, animate corpses to a horrible mockery of life. Rather, they use corrupted translations of ancient sorceries to bind the voracious spirits known as the Vansalbati, or "Hungering Dead", into corpses and largely enslave them to the Necromancer's dark will. The resultant "zombie" is a horrifically malicious entity, combining the Vansalbati's hatred for humanity and desire to consume with a fury born of its recent imprisonment. Worse still, due to their long and tortured existence as spirits greedily watching humanities comings and goings, those whose fleshly prisons still possess some capacity for speech delight in mocking and tormenting the living with secret and twisted knowledge before taring them to shreds in the most horrific of ways. Incredibly difficult to "kill" as they are not truly alive, once the controlling Necromancer glans what secrets they can from them, these zombies become excellent if ill tempered and disturbing servants and enforcers. Indeed, the very word "Zombie" or, more properly, "Zombi" is a Morgulian corruption of the Tanizi word "Zumbe", meaning roughly "Forced Into Servitude" or, shortly, "Slave". Woe be to the Necromancer whose will or incantations fail, for the spirits inhabiting their zombie slaves hate and hunger for the death of humanity, and that of the Necromancer most of all!

On a meta note, I used various deadites from the Evil Dead franchise in this pic as the Morgulian zombies are very close in nature to them and I thought it would be a fun easter egg.
