Description I'm not entirely sure how gothic this girl is since I tend to laugh at them instead of practicing their fashions. This outfit was inspired by a dream I had where I was goth. This dream later turned into something about lions, robots and aliens but I won't go into that... huzzah!

Alright, comments have led me to believe that she is actually punk so we're throwing that into the mix.

I fucking heart this, Holly.

FUCKING HEART.

And speaking as a goth, I'd wear the fucking shit out of this.

Great Neogoth.

Heh, the funniest thing about all that bickering is just how people seem to leave out time periods.

A look from the old days might not pass today for Gothic or Punk because it was too plain or ordinary, but that was the original style then.

The more and more recent you get, the more blended and theatrical the look goes because of so much influence from Tim Burton, Industrial culture, Green Day, Heavy Metal, etc.

But since we're talking modern day, a kind of elegance is what separates the two.

Talking about girl's looks:

Fishnet over the arms, hands or legs can be considered both, but typically Gothic.

Fishnet over more intimate areas is considered punk.

Highlights seem to exist in either culture, but the way the hair is styled suggests one of the two.

A more "traditional" hairstyle is Gothic: pigtails, elegant braids, long flowing hair, glamorous curls, etc.

Messy cuts tend to be Punk - which is here.

The look could've been Gothic with black trim accents on her arms and hands but the revealing thigh cut-outs scream punk -seemingly the last refuge of Industrial and Artsy Metal culture.

Still, in the end it's called NeoPunk or NeoGoth which have SO much in common with each other.

The difference is in the subtleties.

this is a beautiful pic! i really love her clothing. i especially like her pants, very interesting design there. o.o i dooon't think it looks cowgirlish...i'm sure no one would wanna wear them while actually riding a horse <.< owie. they look a lot more bondage fetishy type compared to cow girlyness. aaaanyways...wonderful clothing and character design...and interesting dream o.o

But really, the design of those pants are awsome, very fetishy.

I agree... this one doesn't really feels goth at all.. where's the spikes.. where's the black color? where's the latex? The pants are dark blue which make them look more like jeans, and they certainly have a cowgirl kind of feel to them. I do find the design interesting, and I like the pose and how she's looking down... plus your coloring skills are pretty neat, they work well on her.
Goth... nah. Punk and cowgirlish, likely. An interesting character design? Hell yeah. Well, maybe in your dream you weren't really a goth? That sounds like a mighty interesting dream, by the way...

I really like the pants. Kind of gives the impression of "punk cowgirl" (However that works...) over "goth" though. I like it. And I envy your ability to color. *fist-shaking*
