Love the pose and her eye looking like that. Adds a mysterious feel to it.

Me too! I've always felt like it was a pretty unique pose. I love the pose even though she was really just walking around, lol. She tends to 'lurk' when she walks and her body-language always seems a bit aggressive. Sierra isn't very pleased about being the omega of the pack and you can notice it a bit in her everyday behavior that she is resisting the position.

Yeah, I hope she can earn a higher rank in the pack someday.

I'd say that I hope so too but honestly it would probably be a lie... there used to be five of them but they recently rejected one of their sisters and she had to be separated from the pack. So there are only four of them now. Bella ([link] ) is the pack alpha but also is 14 or 15 years old. Sadly, she probably won't make it through the winter. Tallulah ([link] ) is the pack's second in command so she'll probably take over alpha rank when Bella passes away. Aztec ([link] ) is my absolute favorite of the pack so I wouldn't want to see her fall to omega. However, Aztec is a bit of a mother's girl so when Bella passes it could really affect her. Wolf packs are so complex to keep track of, lol.

Oh wow, it surely is complex. But I can understand you think differently about that - after all I have never seen their behavior truly and I can merely judge on the photographs. xD I'm amazed you can keep track of their rankings and such though.

I guess it's just unfortunate that ever pack needs an omega. Most wolves will never be happy with that rank (some are perfectly content with that role though). Once you get to know the wolves, it isn't too hard to tell their ranks. The keepers are also great though! They'll tell us about the wolves and any significant changes that have occurred withiin the pack.

Yeah. I've read in a wolf information book I have, that omega wolves are also very important in the pack, because it is what keeps the pack together.
And that's very nice! It sounds like such an awesome zoo, I would really love to visit it someday.
