Description Festival of the foxes!

Oh man I'm so so sooo happy with myself for this one!
There's so much wrong with it, but this is the most complicated picture I've drawn to date, with a full background and lots of characters, and getting it done was an achievement in itself!

Here you see Hoshii and Rescue in the foreground, along with some other characters of mine in the background, with some completely made up on-the-spot ones in the far background.

The location is inspired by Fushimi Inari, where many of the shrines look to me like miniature towns for the spirits.

Also, this picture employs further use of the copic style I used here in my last picture picture: [link]

This looks wonderful! It's so detailed and I love all the little chibi like characters hanging around. It gives of a very nice and warm vibe. Makes me wanne join them so much!
Is there a real festival for Kitsunes or did you made this one up? I have a Kitsune character, I just created, and are busy with the second drawing of her and brainstorming for things if I want it intto a story or not. But if I do, a festival for Kitsunes only, or in favor of Kitsunes, I'm sure to add it

Heh, I've also got a story I'm working on, which is like a fox/kitsune festival. Only one family of foxes ends up running into some complications on their journey to the gathering. Also it is set in the woods in the middle of North America somewhere.

I also think this is pretty well done, cute.

(I replied here so that you, (10animallover10 & Hoshiichan,) both can see that I replied.

I have worked a little on the start of the story but then it kind of slipped to the side about a year ago. At the time, I kept trying to red the beginning, then life kind of got in the way.

Thank you so much! I'm really glad my picture gave you that feeling!

There is a "fox festival" but its a human festival for kitsune, but often I think Japanese like to imagine that spirits put on their own festivals, in this case I have an idea in mind based on there being a world for the spirits, with no people, and maybe this is what part of it would look like.
If you're interested, here is a good photo of the shrines at Fushimi Inari, that gave me inspiration for this picture: [link]
They look very much like miniature temples and houses for spirits to live in, to me.

So it is made up, but based on real aspects of Shintoism.
Read wiki pages on kitsune and such if you haven't already, they might give you good ideas, such as how kitsune spirits are often believed to take human form and live amongst us~
