Phew. Well, let’s be honest here - this was not done today. In fact I have it finished and waiting on me to scan it for a cuppa days now, as I finished this monster during Easter holidays. So… Gwenwyndra is not the best of my abominations t be sure, but I have a proper explanation for it - it was my first pencil picture I did using the blending stumps and tortillons! I was taught at a young age that smudging the pencil on paper is sinful. I stood by that doctrine quite adamantly for majority of my life until I found out in my local art shop, that there are professional tools dedicated solely for that exact purpose!So I got myself two various sized stumps, emery board to ‘sharpen’ them on and get to work with pencils and controlled smudging to make the shading of smoke and plates on this monster Was fun!
