Necromancy wasn’t a forbidden art since the Circle of Magi established the new universal constitution of magic, contra signed by most realms and kingdoms. It allowed for tighter control of darker arts but also allow it to embrace a less sinister face. And one of such projects was Jazmats - artificial servants made from bodies of the dead. Docile, obedient, quite smart and much more nimble and flexible than any golem or machine, they proved a market hit across decadent nobles and rich merchants.
