Description Hey guys, here’s my addition to ’s new Skull Island project:

-MEKO (Hawkisuchus burrunji)
One of the larger Mekosuchids on the island and an apex predator of the lowlands. Despite 1860s explorers mistaking them for megalosaurus the species is in fact, a fully-terrestrial mesothermic crocodilian. The juveniles do most of the hunting with the adults being large enough to simply bully other creatures off of their kills; socially they are solitary with the exception of the females which carry their hatchlings around their backs for the first six months.

-DIPRONT (Diprotothere sundicus)
Despite its resemblance to basal ungulates it is actually a basal wombat, related to the giant Diprotodon and conversantly evolving to fill the ecological niches on the island. Males and females possess bony ossicones which they use to defend their young from the predators on the island.

-GEBBA (Alfodon brachrynchus)
Either a really basal offshoot or close relative of the marsupial Palorchestes. A sloth-like creature that harvests low-nutritional leaves from the canopy with its trunk and meter-long tongue. Were likely hunted for food by the natives.

-STRIPED ZOOG (Carnobrachus carterii)
A carnivorous relative to the Gebba common to the upland jungles and forests. Ambush predators similar to leopards and are known to drop down onto game trails. Trunk has evolved into a killing organ equipped with rows of keratin-based spines to hold onto and secure larger animals from escaping the jaws. Males gather in small “parties,” of five or six during the spring season to search for mates.
