Seriously people, go for full view. It looks a thousand times better. I'm not sure why but you don't get the full effect of the shading in the small view version.I have been working on this pretty much solidly all week in an attempt to distract myself from all that's going on. And so, I dedicate this piece to all my lovely, lovely watchers who have been so nice over me going ever so slightly batty this week.
So yeah, if you guys are reading this, thanks. I really, really appreciated it.
In other news, Benedict Cumberbatch is several shades of magnificent but utterly impossible to draw . . .
EDIT- Crap! Sorry, I meant to admit this right from the start but I forgot. I didn't paint the sky in the background. The sky is a photomanipulation from a picture I took at Cowdray Castle.

But, God!! Not the Reichenbach feels again*falls from the chair with miserable face*I've seen many versions of this moment, but somehow when I am looking at Yours I can honestly say that I can feel the wind and literally hear Sherlock's "Goodbye John" .
I admire the way You've made the detective's hair and tears. No other words, except BRILLIANT. His hair looks sooo soft*pokes her finger in the screen*
And the idea with letters and...
ACTUALLY, THERE IS NO NEED TO EXPLAIN WHY I LOVE THIS, JUST BECAUSE IT'S OBVIOUS AND JUST SIMPLY IN LOVE WITH IT.

I was listening to the Sherlock season 2 soundtrack while writing (as I so often do) , and thought "hey, I'll check deviantART," just as "Blood On The Pavement" starts playing. I checked my notifications, went "ooh, new artwork," clicked on it, and saw this. With the music from that scene already playing in the background.
You have utterly broken my feels.
You are some kind of feel-smashing mind reader.
I can't believe any reference to this scene STILL makes me so sad. I mean, it was in January. But it still hurts. Bloody Reichenbach. Bloody Mofftiss. Bloody Steve Thompson. Bloody feels. Bloody rooftop. Bloody pavement. (Oh god, that last one's literal, I just upset myself again.)
But this picture is beautiful. The letters from his phone and the tears and the sky and his facial expression...it's perfect.
I now urgently require comfort ice-cream.

I would say I'm sorry.
But, I'm really, really not.
I'm just so pleased that one of my pictures can provoke a proper emotional reaction and not just an 'hmm, s'alright.'
Although I think we really need to create the Reichenbach Relief Group which provides emotional support for heartbroken fangirls/boys. I made the mistake of listening to the background music for this scene whilst drawing it. NEVER again. My God, it took me a full ten minutes to stop bawling my eyes out.
Snot. EVERYWHERE!
In other news, I can't decide whether I am proud or alarmed that your mother thinks of me first when you start to cry. Although I will admit that as soon as I read your comment I squee'd and ran and showed my big brother. I'll have to write your mum a letter apologising for tormenting you and rendering her daughter incoherent with grief on a semi-regular basis.
