Eh, let's just say it hits a little close to home for me. One of my first brushes with the Cthulhu Mythos was with the godawful movie Necronomicon. In it, they portrayed Cthulhu NOT as the obese octopoid dragon thing we all know and love, but as a large Beholder with standard tentacles instead of eyestalks (tentacles which could shape-shift into dead loved ones to lure people to their dooms). This horrible and pointless rip-off is but one of the more egregious mistakes of that terrible film, a film I came to loathe all the more after I found the real Cthulhu Mythos. To see something that bears such an uncanny resemblance to that degraded abortion of a film adaptation is... unsettling.
