Description
. . . with a decidely Steinbeckian, Depression-era flavor.Inspired by the picture of my grandmother in the upper right.
Two years ago (has it been that long?) I began a project working with prints of my images in a more traditional sense, using the 3-Dimensionality of assemblage and collage techniques to make the leap from digital into the physical realm. Each one is an adventure, and I learn something new every time.

A great piece evokes memories and associations and inspires comment from other real artists as well as critics. There is nothing to quibble or complain about in these assemblages. All of them are deeply affecting. Wintermute would have been proud... if a machine could feel such an emotion.

I always like to add a little bit of ironic sub-text somewhere (just for fun). This time it was a travel tag for an ocean liner voyage (India via Egypt), and a fortune cookie fortune that reads: You will soon be crossing desert sands for a fun vacation.
