Description Three Will Rise, Six Will Fall
The finalized image of my "Rise of the Eldrazi" piece. I made sure to finish it this week since this upcoming weekend is the prerelease for the final set of Zendikar. If you are a magic fan and looking forward to Rise of the Eldrazi, this piece is for you!

Emrakul, Ulamog, and Kozilek have been freed and are destroying Zendikar. The only ones who can stop them are the planeswalkers of the Zendikar block: Nissa Revane, Chandra Ablaze, Sorin Markov, Gideon Jura, Jace the Mind Sculptor, and Sarkhan the Mad.

Yeah, I thought it kind of conveyed his madness and anger. XD He is one of the few villainous walkers right now.

Agreed. He's physically the weakest, but just as Badass as the other two. I'd say he's my favorite. Also, he's better than Emrakul and Kozilek for the fact he was worthy enough to be put in "From the Vault: Legends." XD

Jace the Mind Sculptor is badass, but Jace himself is a bit of a wimp. He gets his butt handed to him by Garruk, Liliana, Baltrice, Bolas, Sarkhan, Emrakul, and most often, Tezzeret. Whoo Tezz!

but wasnt it tezzeret that unleashed eldrazi?....well i hope Kor beats Eldrazi(giant spaghetti monsters)....i dont want to lose another Mirroden....

HuntedComics In reply to Gingerknight000 [2011-05-18 02:27:37 +0000 UTC]

Oh! It was Jace, Chandra, and Sarkhan who released the Eldrazi, all three manipulated by Bolas, the ultimate Mind F*cker.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Gingerknight000 In reply to HuntedComics [2011-05-18 02:35:32 +0000 UTC]

well like i knew that they were manipulated but i mean really it was bolas' idea to do that...he is the ultimate mind f*cker....but who did you want to win mirrodin or ΦphyrxiaΦ? also kor or eldrazi?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HuntedComics In reply to Gingerknight000 [2011-05-18 03:00:46 +0000 UTC]

I voted on Phyrexia. XD Though I'm betting the five Phyrexian factions are going to have a civil war where the Mirrans will sweep in and take them out. And I'm more Eldrazi, but I am intrigued by the Kor. Had no idea they existed before Zendikar. XD

Gideon Jura looks like Tezzeret here. I thought it was Tezz until I read it.

HuntedComics In reply to KhaosSoldier [2011-01-07 05:14:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I did kinda do that. XP' They do look kinda similar, except Tezz seems to have more of an ape-like face. XD I just can't seem to replicate it. And I totally think Gideon on "Near Death Experience" looks like Nicolas Cage.
But ya caught me. I goofed. Sorry... XP'

I dont know if you have read anything about the set, but the three massive Eldrazei are parallel to the Cthulhu from H.P Lovecraft.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HuntedComics In reply to JonnySchweer [2010-12-28 05:56:41 +0000 UTC]

I haven't read Lovecraft's works, but I know they're similar to Cthulhu. I call my Eldrazi deck the "Collect Call of Cthulhu Deck." XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JonnySchweer In reply to HuntedComics [2010-12-28 18:45:58 +0000 UTC]

I'm a fan of Lovecraft's stories. He never really tells too much of the Cthulhu but that those creatures are pretty much smarter than God, a hell of a lot less nice, and practically older than time itself. Supposedly the lived on Earth in times before we thought Earth existed. Currently they are "trapped between the spheres."

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HuntedComics In reply to JonnySchweer [2010-12-28 20:04:15 +0000 UTC]

Nice. He also gives vague descriptions of what Cthulhu looks like, right? Just the Octopus like head and bat wings.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JonnySchweer In reply to HuntedComics [2010-12-28 20:21:40 +0000 UTC]

That is one of them. Ryleach, I think.
There are various human-Cthulhu hybrids (a bit like the brood lineages in the Rise of Eldrazi set) that were supposed to help bring the Cthulhu back. But were killed off by someone who promptly had a nervous breakdown because of seeing those "hideous monstrosities."
The Dunwhich Horror is a good story.

You're welcome.

One question though. Why does Jace have grey hair?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HuntedComics In reply to Poison-Stripes [2010-09-07 23:07:00 +0000 UTC]

XD I had an argument with some guy over the same subject.
I go by the most original depiction. Aleski Briscot, the original artist for the coreset planeswalkers, depicted Jace with whitish/gray hair. He's also depicted in Duel Decks and web comic vs. Chandra as having bluish/white hair. He's only recently been depicted with brown hair.

Poison-Stripes In reply to HuntedComics [2010-09-08 01:13:06 +0000 UTC]

Ah. Okay. I happen to have the version of Jace from the Duel Decks with him having blue-white hair. (and I run him in a couple of decks. I SO want Mind Sculptor...)
