SEE? vacation time makes me work harder, anyway with this page I am quite happy with (unlike the previous one)I hope Shadow is still easy to recognize with his face paint on xD

Painting their furs, just like Native Americans. I always say that lupines a.k.a werewolves are Native American Beasts.

In many different human cultures people have had the way of decorating themselves, with paint, tattoos..piercings, you name it ^^ so not only native Americans, but i guess they are the most famous ones.
To me werewolves are different, humans with ability to change into a wolf or something in between. I just call wolf anthros in my comic lupines myself, it's like a species name they use of themselves in the world they live in.

For lupines the face paint is part of the full moon hunt as tradition just like wearing a costume to a Halloween party. You could say "they have just always done it" like people often say when they can't recall the origin of a specific tradition.
However if you want to know the origin of it.. I don't have exact reason thought out as the official origin for it(cos of the reason mentioned before), but I have a thought for it:
The paint is to identify each member as a member of the specific pack...since each pack has their very own mixture of paint and so their "own color" (shown later in comic that the colors they use vary between packs) this gives the participants of the celebration greater feel of being part of the same group/community..also when you hunt in the dark it is useful to recognize your own pack members even with paint possibly covering their features.
Second thing you can notice is that the pattern is different on each member of the pack (everyone does it as they see best fit) so it is also simply a decoration...way to look flashy so to speak
... like when you wear a dress to a cocktail party.
Lastly... I was thinking it'd be a way to sort of honor their ancestors. The celebration is to celebrate the full moon, birth of a first lupine and to honor their ancestors after all..
Honoring those ancestors with paint is done by decorating their face, and as you can see the pain is not applied elsewhere on the body. Face is the part of lupine that is strikingly most similar to their ancestors..simple regular wolves. So in a way it is bringing out the part of them that is similar to their ancestors.. and that way it is honoring them.

ja kiitos xD koitin tehä siitä luontevan kun en halua että tarinan junnaa hitaasti koko ajan ja kertoo jokaisen hetken xD niin oli pakko tehä tollanen hyppäys ajassa.
No en kyllä lue kauheasti sarjakuvia xD* mutta katson sitäkin enemmän elokuvia xD mut mitä olen lukenu ja tykänny tosi paljon on tosiaan ollu se Blacksad jonka näytit ja death notekin (en ole viäl lukenu vimppoja xDDD damn!) Sitten luen yhtä susi sarjista täällä netissä, sitten löysin yhen koira sarjiksen (suomalaisen ja traditionaalisti piirretyn) josta pidin.. ja Aku Ankkaa tuli luettuna kun olin pienempi xD ...joo ja luen Nemiä ja sitä Nannaa (se kettu tyttö vai mikä se oli) 8D Esikuviksi ite mieltäisin kyllä enimmäkseen elokuvat xD koska kuvittelen tapahtumat ite kohtauksina ennen uin piirrän ne

Hyppäykset ajassa on tietty tärkeitä tarinan rakenteelle. Teet niiden kanssa hyvää työtä.
Kiva jos tykkäsit niistä sarjoista joita näytin. Black sad on tosi tasokasta jälkeä ja kivaa katsella. Samoin tuo Death note jonka tarinakin on tosi hyvä.
Elokuvat tosiaan on hyviä inspaamaan kun kameratyöskentely ja kohtausten erottelu on aika samanlainen kuin sarjiksissa. Kiintoisaa että ne on vaikuttanut sulla enemmän kuin sarjakuva itsessään.

kiitos xD ja joo todella tykkäsin niistä 8D black sadissä on aivan ihana piirtotyyli, ensin en oikein tienny pidinkö koska oli niin ihmismäiset nais hahmot mutta lopulta ihastuin siihen täysin xD
joo ja ne on vaikuttanu enemmän mulla vain sen takia koska en lue kauheat srajakuvia mutta katson elokuvia niin hirveesti xD

well the daddy wolf, the white one (Frost) he has a lot of patience since the two pups are his xD my personal favorite of this page is his facial expression on the last panel "the lecture face" xD

XD drawing expressions is a huge pain in the ass for me, so that's why most of my humans have a totally blank expression on.
