AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!!!Final inks for T-shirt/CD/Poster/whatever art I did for my son's band, "Pirate Fridays" (or "Pi Fri" as the kids around here call 'em). He figured a pirate's motorcycle would go "RUM! RUM! RUM!" so that's what I drew. This was a fun one. I'll post coloured, lettered versions, etc., whenever they're done, as well as a link to Pi Fri's new album, once it's available. I know I'm biased, but they're a great band!
ART NERD TECHNICAL DETAILS: Inked with a Raphael 8408, #3 brush and Speedball Super Black smooth Strathmore Bristol (small touchups with very fine Pigma and/or Staedtler archival markers).

***UPDATE: Just added a bit of tone in the circle for depth. Trying to give it that 3D "busting out" feeling!

Yes, I guess compared to my usual glacial plodding, I've been getting quite a bit done lately. We've also been shooting a complicated vampire-themed country music video (?!) at various locations for the last 2 or 3 months and now I'm also doing a bunch of interviews about our first video being nominated for a Native American Music Award, so, yep, I don't have much time to get into trouble! Good to see you back on dA.

Yep. They're pretty good, too! He's one of the two main singers/guitarists/songwriters and he also does the videos (with a little help from some public domain footage he found - at least I HOPE it's public domain!) Here's their latest video, if you're interested: [link]

Yep; there's probably some S. Clay Wilson in there. I read a lot of his pirate and/or biker stuff back in the day. I also get a bit of a Steve Mannion vibe to this somehow, although not quite as good, sadly. Anyhow, thanks a lot!
