That's my favorite look for him in the entire game. ^^

Me too. He looks rather sleek and customized with his fancy gadgets and tattoos.

the rank tattoo he gets in the lair of evil is a little boring imo haha, the harness + crimson fins just looks awesome to me ^^

woo! Ecco is awesome.
Nice drawing. I particularly hated that level ...especially the grinder things.
Though i loved the harness and getting to be a crimson, ecco is the best hahah XD

Thank you. Most levels in Ecco were hard. I did like the design of the Man's Nightmare levels (Really, all the levels were pretty).

The weird, almost alien landscape in Dolphin's Nightmare was very intriguing. The Clan Dolphins swimming all over weren't quite so nice, though.

Those dolphins look so awesome. The outcast were pretty interesting as well.
Aaahh reminiscing about ecco makes me want to go play it now! XD

I might start it again soon. I usually like to play most of my games over again and I haven't played Ecco in awhile.

Thanks. I haven't really tried replaying that one. It was so hard getting throught it the first time that I just want to rest on my laurels and replay old levels that I particularly like.

Well good luck with that. Some of those Vitalits are in pretty ridiculous places and can be easy to miss.

Really? I can't really play that game. I do like the 2D levels that you can activate once who've beaten the game.

HWolfer In reply to LaraMuk [2008-10-05 19:29:10 +0000 UTC]
The 2D levels are in two secret areas of Up and Down. You have to beat the game first before they become available in that level.

They're pretty fun and they hearken back to the days of old 2D Ecco gaming. I don't like going back to Up and Down however.

HWolfer In reply to LaraMuk [2008-10-18 19:30:04 +0000 UTC]
Very impressive. Now you can just go back and explore any level you want and look for missing vitalits. You can also find and play the 2D levels.

Yeah, most final bosses are like that. I have recently started replaying the old Sega Ecco games using an emulater on my computer. I'd forgotten how difficult they are. It seems that being hard is an Ecco tradition.

Thanks. Yeah, the harness and the fins are very cool. The clan symbol he gains on his side in the Dolphin's Nightmare levels is interesting as well. If I can find a decent picture of it, I might consider drawing it.

This is like really awesome! great work! Fav!
I got stuck in that part with switches for like 6 months on/off in Man's nightmare. then that stupid hanging waters one.(shuders at memory)

Yes, Man's Nightmare certainly had its share of nightmarish levels. Perpetual Fluidity was the bane of my existence for awhile and of course, Hanging Waters was as frustrating as always. Thanks for the comment!

Well, congratulations for getting that far! I'm afraid to say that the part of the game where you are is very difficult. I don't remember the levels that clearly but I do remember that I never wanted to play them again after beating them.

There have been numerous Ecco games on plenty of different consoles. I only had the Sega and PS2 ones. Defender of the Future was just a gorgeous game and I'm glad I bought it.
I also study marine biology and it seemed like the perfect game for me.

Really? It was fairly popular on the Sega Genesis console. I majored in marine biology so I'm sort of fixated on dolphins. When I finally found a game with a dolphin I jumped on it.

Did forget the name of it, perhaps it WAS Ecco? (it was for the Gameboy Color)

It could be. I never owned a Gameboy myself but my brother did. I only owned the Sega Genesis Ecco game and now the PS2 game.
The games are fun, if very difficult. However, I never minded games that challenged me so it was a perfect fit.
