Description The cover scene from the book "The Dragons: Lost Histories Vol. VI" by Douglas Niles. It's part of the Dragonlance series. I'm not sure which dragons are pictured here. It's either Darlantan (silver) and Crematia (red) or Lectral (silver) and Deathfyre (red).

The sizes are a bit off; the red dragon should be larger but I needed to fit it on the page.

Done with layout pencil and pastels. This is a digital photo and it doesn't have the best resolution. I may upload a better version soon.

I filched the title from William Faulkner's classic novel. Nothing else fit so well. "The Sound and the Fury" (C) William Faulkner.

Amazing! I love how you've captured the ferocity dragons should have.

Thank you. Dragons are one of my favorite things to draw and I definately think they should look ferocious, or at least not too cutsy. Give me claws and fangs and spines and spikes. It's why I particularly like the dragons from the Drakan series.

You and I share the same opinion on how dragons should look.

I've never been able to get used to the idea of drawing a "cute" dragon. Although I have drawn one that was a baby...It still had the mischeviousness look in its eyes. I'll have to post that one soon.

Cute dragons are ok but I defiantely prefer the more realistic versions. The Drakan version dragons are just gritty and have horns and teeth and claws and spines just sticking out everywhere. One of the main characters is a dragon that you can control, Arokh. I have two pictures from the series: Rekindling of the Bond and Fighting Navaros .

OOOOOO!!! I have Drakan: The Ancients Gates on PS2. So THAT's the Drakan you're talking about. Gotcha! XD

I agree. I love dragons that have spines and claws and sharp teeth and horns.

Drakan 2 is one of the few non-RPG games that I can replay numerous times and not get bored. Have you ever played the first Drakan game for the PC?

No, unfortunately...

I never knew about the PC games until about 2 years ago. And now I can't find a copy anywhere. lol

There are some games I really wish people would remake just cause they're awesome like that.

Yeah, I have an old copy from many years ago but I don't know if it will even play on my computer now. You could check ebay.com; there are bound to be some people that still have the PC game. It's pretty fun and the graphics are decent considering when it was made.

I'm not sure. You need to be able to have a bank account and/or a credit card in order to purchase things for yourself. I don't know how old you have to be to get either one of those things.

Ironically, my sister and I went to Borders this weekend and she decided to buy that book and read it. It was an interesting coincidence.
