Description
The weather was pleasantly warm, the sun was at its peak, and it was a quiet day. The young Darius wandered through his domain now that he had become the democratic leader of those lands. Darius earned his power on his own merits by defeating the Vortex leader Neyzan despite the fact that not all his people supported him, he fought for all those who had named him their leader, and he won with honor by letting the fearsome Neyzan live at the end of the fight.
He spent a good part of summer recovering from his injuries, and this was the second day that his caretakers had finally allowed him to stretch his wheels a little and explore his territory, wich still quite new to him. His skin was still covered with wounds and bruises, but his desire to walk was greater than the pain of his half-healed injuries, he did not want to waste the only weeks of warm weather in a bed.
While exploring one of the many unknown trails, Darius spotted a strange circular building whose remaining crystals reflected the sunlight, making it stand out among the undergrowth. Its vaulted structure and glass roof revealed that it was an old and damaged greenhouse that in its glory days could have been the luxurious garden of some rich person, but sooner or later, time and war did their thing, turning it into a nest of dead grass.
Intrigued by the peculiar beauty of that dome, he decided to enter despite the enormous effort it took to move his body, but somehow managed to break through the rubble that blocked the entrance. Everything was very beautiful, although broken, Darius had found a place that in some strange way brought him much peace. The missing crystals lay broken on the floor, but allowed more light to seep in, the climbing plants had taken over the damaged walls, and the marble pots remained intact, though without flowers.
But something in particular had caught the attention of the young Darius, something that did not agree with the devastating and lonely atmosphere of the dome. A single plant whose flowers had already sprouted, its roots were firmly anchored to the ground, and a few debris shaded it, and protected its flowers from the cruel climate that constantly plagued the region. Two flowers of unparalleled beauty, which had sprung from the apparent nothing, which turned out to be orchids of white petals sprinkled with pink dots.
- For the Hybrid Lamborghini ... look at you, you're beautiful.-
Darius opened his wheels out and laid his stomach on the ground to better appreciate the orchids, stunned by their beauty.
- You're a warrior, you know? A true survivor ... just like us. I wonder how you could live so long here, alone.-
Touched by the solitary flower, Darius watches with nostalgia at his surroundings, especially towards one of the walls that had been vandalized with one of the many symbols used against the hybrids.
- …But you know? You will not be alone anymore, you will not have to worry about winter ... I'm going to rebuild this place. Ovbiously, when I can stand on my own wheels.-
Darius did everything possible to protect the flower with the rubble he found nearby, and then go back to his resting place.
Time passed, and Darius kept his promise. He and his loyal followers, reconstructed the greenhouse, and it became a small sanctuary in which to forget the horrible things of the outside world for a few moments, besides becoming the place where the actions of the growing community of hybrids and humans would be taken, which would get the name of Cilt long after the four leaders had been chosen, and the five ranks created. That orchid spent the rest of its days accompanied by many other flowers that since that day have been under the care of Darius himself, because he always tought it was worth taking care of the few beauties that were left to this devastated land.
There is always hope, even when the world seems to be collapsing.
