Description
The machined precursor to the German MG-42, the MG-34 was once the standard issued machine gun of the Third Reich. The MG-34 was based off the Rheinmetall MG-30, however the design of the machine gun was adapted and modified later on. The MG-34 was first fielded by the year 1934 and remained a dominant machine gun until 1942. Like the MP38 however, the MG-34 required machined parts to be manufactured and due to the expensive nature of such parts, manufacturing for the weapon had ceased. Despite this though, the MG-34 still saw action all the way up until the end of World War 2.
