Description Following the destruction of Mjolnir by Hela and the death of the survivors of Asgard, Thor was picked up by the Guardians of the Galaxy and both Rocket Raccoon and Groot stayed with him when they headed for Nidavellir, the kingdom of the Dwarves. This was where Thor and his companions were aided by the king of the Dwarves, Eitri, to forge the new Asgardian King a new weapon from the Uru metal. Once the metal was placed in a mold and the axe blade and mallet form of the weapon were made, Groot took hold of both pieces with his arm and severed it. This formed the new weapon which is known now as "Stormbreaker". He would use this weapon to return to Earth and battle the forces of Thanos, even impale Thanos himself, but didn't kill him, as the titan escaped before Thor could kill him. 5 years after the events of Infinity War, Thor would wield it to succeed in killing Thanos with a swift blow to the head and later as king of New Asgard, mostly for opening beer bottles. The weapon would return to action when Thor wielded it against Thanos and his army during Endgame, along with his past version of Mjolnir. Captain America proved worthy of wielding his former weapon and therefore wielded it in conjunction with his shield. Following their victory, Thor teamed up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, taking Stormbreaker with him.

Like the previous weapon wielded by the thunder god, Stormbreaker can channel Thor's atmokinetic powers and even enhance them greatly. The weapon can even withstand the nigh-omnipotent power of the Infinity Gauntlet and like Heimdal's sword, can channel the bifrost easily. Thor can throw this weapon at his enemies with devastating effects, then it can return to his hand, similarly to that of Mjolnir.

What about the Infinity Gauntlet? Technically, it IS a weapon.
