It was a huge downer when she stopped being the main character early in the series, but she's still cool. I came for the bodysuits, I stayed for the mechs.

oh yeah, i think total eclipse is actually a spin-off of the original Muv-Luv game. I'm not sure where the story goes from here, but I'm pretty sure it was a dating sim so...

those first couple episodes with the beta made me think it was going to be a VERY different anime...and then it got super violent again in the end.

I don't know how the male characters of the show can stand around the hangar and not stare at the girls.

well, not all the guys. Some of them are so muscular that their muscle figure show through the suit, the good looking ones that is.
