Description I called this piece as such inpired by Varda the Valie from the Silmarillion.

Silver construction, blue agate the briolette.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT NOTE (PLEASE READ BELOW IN CASE YOU WANT ONE OF THESE)

After the many times I have been asked about whether I can make another piece like this, the answer is yes I can, however although I don't dislike fully this period of my work (all the weaves that is) I have outgrown it.

So I would like to stress that I will only revisit any such motifs if the price tag makes it justifiable for me, those asking and hoping to be charged less than £120-150 (+shipping from wherever I happen to be in the world) for something of that period please do not take offence but I will not entertain the messages or requests.

I write this because I prefer to make that clear than to have to take these pieces off my deviantart gallery.

The colors are so nice and clean, I like how the light hitting the blue agate thing(sorry, I'm not knowledgable). It reminds me of photosof the earth from above clouds where you can see the ocean and the clouds above it, is that common with this type of...is it a stone or what do you call it? Favoriting

That's very kind from your part. It is indeed a stone, it's blue agate which most likely means it has been artificially coloured, sometimes you can find really good copies with glass but the refractive qualities aren't as good or simply put are different. One thing is certain I haven't been able to find one like this one again.

Thanks for faving it. It's much appreciated as well as your support.

All the best and be well

Thank you.

It's nice when folks from viking and non classical european tastes appreciate it as really this is just an interpretation of our past with techniques that are related to and that unfortunately are lost in the west.

I didn't actually cast anything there, all welded in place, but I do agree that stone is gorgeous, and it's a shame I haven't found one quite like it again.

Thank you folks.

The compliments are much appreciated.

In answer to your question ~Generic-username , it took me two sessions of 2 hours each to make it. First day cut, shaped and welded every bit, then put the stone in and welded it in place with the stone inside (tricky without a Little Torch which I don't have yet), then I pickled it and left it till the next day to be polished. Next day I sanded, barrelled it and then polished it with tripoli paste and voila.

The tricky bit really is getting to weld the cage without overheating the stone and all the other welding points. A lot of people with more means will use heat stop paste and a Little Torch and make quick and uneventful job of it.

Glad you like it.
