xHuzzah!x go you! this is awesome by the way. The Grovyle looks almost three dimensional, like he's gonna pop right out of the page. Excellent shading, and depth.

How did you get such rolling color into shadow like that? It's perfect! Everytime I do some digital art I have to use the airbrush, and then it's painstakingly difficult to erase the "out of the lines" shadowed colors. What program do you use?

What I use is firealpaca to draw all my stuff ^^. As for how to get it to not go out of the lines, you need to put the base colors below the line art on a separate layer and make sure that there are no white spots in between the colors and the line art. then you will need to make a new layer that is a clipping layer for the colors (I usually have different base layers for each individual color so I don't have to worry about colors pouring over each other in the line art).
As for the blending, here is a tutorial that can explain this way better than I can and is what I learned from on how to blend XD. (Although I end up blurring my colors together once they are close to being completely blended).
