So I'm a little late to the Yandere game drama, but at a friend's suggestion, I watched Pucca on Netflix. It certainly was a fun experience, though I went in a little skeptical because TV Tropes says Pucca is seen as a Designated Hero, though the show I watched, Love Recipe, seemed to her and Garu justice, as their violent behaviour from the second series was toned down, Pucca being more friendly to others and Garu reacting to Pucca's...funny love with annoyance at worst. Not sure Pucca's a Yandere, she's certainly lovesick, but hey, it was a better watch than Yandere stories where we follow someone like Ayano.

I understand that Yandere Simulator has a lot of fans and a lot of detractors. One of the biggest issues people have is the fact that we're playing as the violent murderer, and while you can kill some people who deserve it, like a pedophile teacher, most of your targets completely undeserving, and Ayano can dispose of them in some appalling ways. This backlash kinda shows that video games don't cause violence like some idiots would say it does. If anything, people often show disgust when games(Or any fiction) get gratuitous with violent content, not to add to the story or the atmosphere of the game, but just to shock, or in some cases, act like "Look how cool this murder and torture is!" People have this reaction, not out of fear for children imitating it, but just because people don't want to see Shao Kahn and Not-My-Sindel break Liu Kang and Kitana physically and emotionally, or Ellie getting her fingers bitten off by Abby, or the Anti-Spiral tentacle-raping Nia, or Clementine killing a dog, or that woman from Human Centipede 2 crushing her newborn between her foot and a gas-pedal(I'm not making any of this stuff up.)or just the Human Centipede franchise in general. Seriously, the Human Centipede films would actually be watchable if it were just characters with their heads shoved up other people's asses, like that Apparate video from Potter Puppet Pals.

Uh, anyway, Pucca: Love Recipe is great, 10/10. Felt great looking into this franchise since my past experience was just seeing some of it on Jetix and not paying attention to any of the dialogue. Also, Yandere Dev, Dr. Aepis, you two should be ashamed of yourselves. And yes, this picture is a Henry Stickmin reference.
