Description These days I've been working on CAD tools in Neobarok  and here they are in action.
You can now Cut an object into parts, Erase, Move or Extrude the separate regions - ("industrial" CAD tools), or Deform & Smooth the surface (Clay tools).
The contours give you more control over the shape, even when sculpting organics - which I will show in a future example.

For updates follow the official page of the software: Neobarok

Very neat.  Is it going to have some dynamic topology sculpting, like sculptris and zbrush?

yes, I had already implemented something in an early version called Freestyle: vimeo.com/25962195
as far as I remember, ZBrush isn't really dynamic - it keeps the same topology during sculpting and you can ask for a remesh (that is probably done by passing to voxels and back to polygons, much like 3D Coat)
Sculptris on the other hand is dynamic during sculpting

Are you paid for that work? This is so amazing and nice. And like you said it look super easy to use. Hope you get something out of it! (like money, scholarship, job, prize or award)

I'm working for free & full-time on it. I'm planning to crowd-fund further development as soon as possible this year, and release the software for free (backers will receive extra 3d models, materials...).
If that works well enough future versions will also be crowd-funded and free. But it's too early to say how things will be in one or two years. We'll see
I'm hopeful, and I also love working on it. Actually I can't wait to use it to make my own art in it, inspired from my sketches It's pretty amazing to see it come together.

It is really impressive and I hope it will all workout for you. Your artwork is also really amazing and I look forward to see your works created with your program.

for now I'm receiving unemployment after my PhD. it's not ideal, but as an entrepreneur things never are, especially at the start.

During my PhD I published an article regarding some of these techniques (not the "Freestyle" article, but a second one).
But I oversimplified things in that article and that implementation was far from the functionality implemented here.
Anyway, it's pretty exciting to be working on this, and seeing how my ideas evolved since my PhD years (2008-2013)

Also exciting to see theories become useful realities.

yeah, I finally spent time implementing the sculpture on Meshes (the most complex "Element" that you can sculpt - the Revolutons are easy to implement by comparison). and it comes out nicely, it's just lovely to play with
