I love how, even though you're using photos as reference, you don't just copy the photo. You change it to your liking. For instance I noticed the background is a night scene when in fact the reference was shot in the daytime. Oh and that sky is stunning.

As I'm not that good in making portraits out of my imagination I have to help myself by using a references, but I always try to make them different, to experiment with shadows, lights, emotions on the face, almost all my realistic works are made with reference but it is sometimes too much modificated to link them in description (it would be senseless). Sometimes I get only pose of figure or shape of clothes - it's difficult to imagine 
I'm still learning how to paint - I'm a self-taught artist and your words keep me up

Hmmm, interesting. Her pinky has created almost the illusion of a backwards hand... Maybe next time put less of a curve to show that its a pinky and not a thumb

sometimes photos makes illusions that are tricky to draw... :/ i thought about what you said - to change curves of the hand but it would be unfair with the Lady Providence - the commisioner, I thought that nails I drawed will show the correct position of hand but I see bow it doesn't look how I want, they are too small for making them more details
