Description
**THE POKEMON PHOTOGRAPHER TAKES THEIR SHOT!!!**
Name: Pokémon Photographer
Universe: Pokémon
Entrance: The NEO-ONE is transported down onto the battlefield as the Photographer excitedly gets their camera out, ready for an epic fight and photo opportunity!
POKEMON SNAP FIGHTER---------------------------
The Photographer of the Lental region comes to Smash to take the best photos of the battlefield!! Being a photographer, it would feel weird having them duking it out with fists ablazing, so instead they are literally just here to try to get photos of Pokémon! However, these Pokémon are intentionally or unintentionally delivering attacks, so all the attacks are “photo opportunities” for the Photographer. The Photographer has impressive range to all attacks because of this, as they are a step back from the action of each attack.
Specials------------------------------
B- Snapshot- The photographer takes out their trusty camera and snaps a photo forward! The photo taking sends out a radius attack with the radius being similar to Palutena’s standard special. The photograph does not deal knockback unfortunately, but it will deal flinching DMG to opponents caught in the photographic flash! The DMG dealt deals on the rating of the photo taken, and the star rating for the photos also is dependent on what is captured in the photo. There is also a cooldown for the photos of 5 seconds between photos. Here are the possibilities of DMG dealt.
- 1 Star: Standard standing or running opponent, items, stage hazards, or assist trophies. (1.5% DMG)
- 2 Star: Catching an opponent using a standard attack, an opponent with a negative status effect, an opponent caught with a SOUR effect, or a taunting opponent. (3.5% DMG)
- 3 Star: Catching opponents charging up a special attack or smash attack, catching more than 2 enemies together in a photo, catching a Pokéball Pokémon in an attack. (6% DMG)
- 4 Star: Final Smash, an opponent stunned by the down special scan, a connecting smash attack, a baseball bat successful attack, the moment a counterattack is happening. (10% DMG)
Side B- Fluffruit Toss- The photographer launches out a small fruit-like projectile forward in a slight arc called the Fluffruit! This delicious food is used to lure out and feed Pokémon in the world of Pokémon snap, but in Smash Bros it is used to deal a status effect on your foes! After tossing out the fluffruit, if it hits an opponent that opponent will do an animation as if they just ate something. Rather than gaining health or a positive effect, these fluffruits must be bad because they cause a new effect called SOUR. The opponent will have a red mist coming off of them for a short amount of time and a face just like when they have a poison effect. Their speed is also reduced while under the SOUR effect. The effect lasts for about 5-6 seconds before wearing off. Opponents are also dealt small DMG along with it. If the fluffruit does not make contact, it will bounce on the ground a remain there for about 5 seconds, if it is touched while on the ground the opponent who touches it will automatically eat it and gain the negative status effect. The Photographer has a 6 second cooldown between uses of the fluffruit.
Up B- New Discovery- The NEO-ONE is engulfed in bright light as a beam of light captures the vehicle and carries it straight upwards a good distance very quickly. The recovery has great air and is a quick recovery but has not horizontal recovery and does not deal DMG to opponents. This is pulled right from the end-of-course teleportation from the Pokémon Snap game.
Down B- Scan- The photographer uses the NEO-ONE’s scan ability to send out an energy shockwave all around the vehicle. Any opponent caught in the shockwave receives small non-flinching DMG, but the real usage of the attack is to coincide with the side special. If an opponent is hit by the scan while they are affected by the SOUR effect, this scan will momentarily paralyze the opponent similar to Zero Suit Samus’ standard special. The paralyzing effect works as if the opponent were a Pokémon and the scan startled them! Paralyzed opponents have a higher chance of the snapshot special dealing more star DMG, so the scan is used to try to capture and stall opponents so you can line up the perfect shot!
Final Smash- Illumina Rampage- The Photographer closes the overhead of the NEO-ONE, takes out a massive illumine orb, and tosses it forward excitedly! The orb being about the same size as Mega-Man’s final smash starter, and the explosion of the orb looking similar to the remote bombs of Link. Any opponent(s) caught are transported in a quick beam of light to the mysterious ruins of the Lental Region, where they glow bright with the illumination of the illumina orb. The ground trembles and lights glow bright as the camera quickly pans between all of the Illumina Pokémon! Meganium excitedly stampedes out of the forest, Milotic swims at great speeds through the water, two Volcarona soar through volcanic mines, Wishiwashi swims from the depths of the ocean, and Steelix tunnels through the mines in the ground. All at once, the Illumina Pokémon leap towards the opponent(s) and stampede them, causing massive DMG! They are then sent flying with high DMG back to the main battlefield.
Standard Moves---------------------------------------------
Neutral A- Machamp Photo Opportunity- Machamp delivers a right hook, left hook, then a flurry of rapid punches from all four fists, before finishing with a final gut punch with all four arms and a pose.
A Left/Right- Illumina Orb Toss-
A Dash- Scorbunny Photo Opportunity- A Scorbunny sprints forward a short distance as it is engulfed in flame while hurtling forward to deliver fire DMG.
A Up- Vivillon Photo Opportunity- A Vivillon gracefully flies in three quick circles above the NEO-ONE.
A Down- Pinsir Photo Opportunity- A Pinsir quickly burrows upwards from underground and snaps its barbed jaws forward before tunneling back underground.
Smash Left/Right- Dodrio Photo Opportunity- A giant Dodrio charges up all three angry heads and unleashes a flurry of multiple rapid stabbing attacks forward with its beaks before finishing with a neck/head swing from an outer head.
Smash Up- Arbok Photo Opportunity- An Arbok appears beside the NEO-ONE and circles around it while charging up. When releasing the smash attack, the Arbok lunges straight upwards a high distance for a fang biting attack! Hard to land but deals great DMG if it does.
Smash Down- Gengar Photo Opportunity- In front of the NEO-ONE a pool of dark energy forms while charging. When releasing, a Gengar leaps out half of its body out of the dark portal and delivers a strong screeching attack before slipping back into the darkness.
Aerial Neutral- Qwilifish Photo Opportunity- A Qwilifish appears and rapidly swims in a circle twice around the NEO-ONE.
Aerial Forward- Starmie Photo Opportunity- A Starmie appears and rapidly spins forward to deal multiple hits of DMG.
Aerial Backward- Combee Photo Opportunity- A Combee is seen behind the NEO-ONE as it looks angry and stabs its stinger behind itself.
Aerial Up- Chandelure Photo Opportunity- A Chandelure appears above the NEO-ONE and rapidly spins as flames burst out of its head, dealing a burst of explosive fire DMG above.
Aerial Down- Gravler Photo Opportunity- A Gravler appears above the NEO-ONE…..and jumps on the vehicle! Causing the NEO-ONE to come plummeting straight downward until it hits the ground as the Photographer looks panicked! This can deal great DMG and a meteor strike, but will cause the vehicle to plummet straight downwards and if over a pit is guaranteed death.
Grab- Sylvion Photo Opportunity- Sylvion appears and lashes forward with her ribbons and wraps opponents up in them if she catches them.
Pummel- Sylvion Photo Opportunity- The Photographer takes photos as Sylvion headbutts the opponent.
Front Throw- Kecleon Photo Opportunity- Sylvion tosses the opponent upwards as Kecleon appears and uses a tongue attack to shoot the opponent forward.
Back Throw- Mawile Photo Opportunity- Sylvion throws the opponent back as a Mawile appears and uses its hair-jaw to snap its giant teeth shut on the opponent to deal heavy DMG and knockback.
Up Throw- Sandygast Photo Opportunity- Sylvion disappears as a Sandygast appears from below the grabbed opponent and shoots upwards to launch the opponent skyward.
Down Throw- Metapod Photo Opportunity- Sylvion disappears as a Metapod appears in the sky and comes plummeting downward onto the captured opponent.
Item Holding/Use- A small crane-like hand shoots out from the front of the NEO-ONE and works as a claw hand when using any items. When eating food, the crane grabs food and retracts it back into the vehicle where the Photographer is seen eating the food.
Swimming Animation- Lotad Photo Opportunity- The Photographer takes photos of a Lotad swimming in the water. When the Photographer is drowning, the animation is the Lotad grabbing onto the NEO-ONE in a panic and taking the vehicle down with it.
Taunt/Result Screen---------------------------------------------------
Taunt 1 (Up) – A Magikarp is seen using splash! The Photographer is so excited as they snap a photo of the Pokémon!
Taunt 2 (Side) – The Photographer presses a button in their vehicle as the music box tune from New Pokémon Snap plays and the Photographer sways back and forth happily.
Taunt 3 (Down) – A Sobble leaps onto the Photographer’s vehicle playfully! The Photographer takes a quick photo of the amazing shot, but the flash scares the Sobble! It leaps off and disappears.
Defeat Pose- The Photographer stands outside of their vehicle and claps with a smile on their face for the winner. Every once in a while, they will also take out their camera and snap a quick photo of the winner, gotta get a good shot of the victor!
Victory Pose 1- A line of three Bidoof march onscreen as the camera pans to show the Photographer catching the perfect photo! The Photographer snaps a shot and pumps their fist.
Victory Pose 2- The Photographer snaps a photo of multiple angles before smiling and snapping a photo of the victory screen with a big smile. They photographed you!
