I went to Maui a few years back and people could tell that I was from Canada just from my accent...And the people were from Seattle. lol.
Some people way down south think that we live in igloos...

Oh god thank you for this. xD I go to an international school and me and a Canadian friend of mine spent nearly the whole bus ride home trying to explain what a toque was to one of her friends, took me until near the end to say it's like a beanie and oh they got it! XD

...You do know that a chesterfield is a Canadianism right?
It's very Canadian to call a couch or sofa a chesterfield, so much so that I only know of elder folk to use that term.
Just to clear things up.
Greetings from Ontario!

I've always said runners & slivers. I'd get confused when they'd say the other things.
I say "Eh". but it sounds more like "Eey!" short for Hey. (most of the time. xD)

Splinters/slivers are used completely interchangeably in the States. In California I'd say I usually call them slivers.

Canadian and proud!
Haha that's so true.
I use all those slang words.
I didn't really recognize it, but Americans always question me on it.
'Specially 'favourite' and 'colour', and sometimes 'gray/grey'.
